At least one in eight of us is affected by mental health issues

Today, on World Mental Health Day 2022, let’s take a chance to “rekindle our efforts to protect and improve mental health,” says the World Health Organisation (WHO). – Are we open about our mental health, or is it holding us back?

This Mental Health Day, take a pledge to be more mindful of your thoughts and feelings. Let’s learn to take our mental health and that of our colleagues more seriously so that we can enjoy our work more and love the people around us.

Since we spend almost half our day at our workplace, it is necessary to ensure that we feel mentally fit and present at our workplace. Taking small conscious efforts can help us take good care of our mental health.

Let’s take a look at how we can take care of our mental health at our workplace!

-Find out what you love about your job and make a list of those things. Referring back to the same aids you when you’re feeling down about your work.

-It can be easy to mask your emotions and continue striving but saying No when we feel overwhelmed and seeking help from your seniors without feeling hesitant spares us from burnout, confusion, and exhaustion.

-Preaching, practising, and promoting the normalcy to exhibit vulnerability at workplaces will take off the pressure and allow you to perform your job even better. It makes your workplace a safe space to ask for help when you encounter any hindrances.

-Be more aware of your language and tonality while giving criticism and always be more generous when your co-workers deserve appreciation.

-Paying lesser heed to the perceptions and judgments others have of you and focusing more on your self-growth and company’s betterment, assists you in staying away from any kind of negativity without hampering the end results of your performance.

-These small efforts avoid conflicts at the workplace and enforce an environment of cordiality. Apart from these efforts, your overall self-care is a must. Going back to your hobbies, taking care of your health, and having an adequate balance between personal and professional lives will boost your efficiency in your respective roles.
